Format of the Tournament
The format of the World Cup 2023 is the exact same as that of the ODI World Cup 2019. The top 8 teams in the ICC ODI Rankings automatically qualified for the main event. After the completion of the group phase, the top 4 teams on the points table will get through to the semi-finals. The winners of those semi-finals will lock horns in the World Cup 2023 final. Hence, the knockout stage of the tournament will contain 3 matches.
