In reply, Kyle Mayers and KL Rahul(↑5.32%) produced a 55-run opening partnership. After Mayers got out, Krunal Pandya(↑62.01%) partnered with Rahul for another fine partnership. The game seemed done and dusted as Lucknow needed just 30 off 34 with 9 wickets in hand. But the wicket of Krunal Pandya(↑62.01%) started an unlikely series of events. Nicholas Pooran consumed 7 balls to score 1 run.
KL Rahul(↑5.32%) got into a shell, and with 23 needed in 3 overs, the next two overs brought only 11 runs. Mohit Sharma took the ball with 12 to defend off the last over. KL Rahul(↑5.32%) got out on the second ball after crawling to 68 off 61. Marcus Stoinis followed his next ball, and the next two balls saw two run-outs. Lucknow lost 4 wickets in 4 balls, and Gujarat picked an unlikely 7-run victory.
Match 31: Mumbai vs. Punjab
Punjab 214 for 8 (Curran 55(↑31.48%), Arshdeep 4/29(↑62.35%)) beat Mumbai 201 for 6 (Green 67 & 2/41(↑28.14%), Surya 57(↑71.43%)) by 13 runs.
Mumbai won the toss and opted to bowl first. Cameron Green(↑28.14%) got Matthew Short out for just 11 in the third over. Prabhsimran Singh and Atharva Taide scored 26(17) and 29(17), respectively, to keep Punjab afloat. Liam Livingstone departed for just 10, and Punjab were 83 for 4 in the 10th over. Harpreet Singh and Sam Curran(↑31.48%) formed a 92-run stand in 8 overs to put Mumbai under pressure. Harpreet scored 41 off 28, while Curran hit 55 off 29. Jitesh Sharma came in next and whacked 4 sixes in his 7-ball innings to get 25 off 7. Mumbai were asked to chase 215 runs in their 20 overs.
Ishan Kishan fell in the second over of the chase to Arshdeep Singh(↑62.35%). Rohit Sharma and Cameron Green(↑28.14%) added 86 runs for the second wicket before Rohit departed for 44 off 27. Green kept going and stitched a 75-run partnership with Suryakumar Yadav(↑71.43%). When he got out for 67(43), the equation was 56 off 27. SKY kept Mumbai in the contest but with 33 needed off 15, Arshdeep sent him back for 57(26).
Nathan Ellis bowled the 19th over and gave 15 runs in it. Arshdeep had to defend 16 off the last over. The first two balls went for just 1 and 0, followed by two consecutive wickets. The last two deliveries brought just 1 more run as Mumbai fell short by 13 runs. Arshdeep picked 4 wickets for just 29 runs.

SKY’s stocks went up by ₹85.88 on the opening day. Arshdeep’s value also increased by ₹38.26, and Krunal’s price went north by ₹50.65. GT’s skipper Hardik Pandya(↑41.46%) got a price raise of ₹77.75. In contrast, Rahul Chahar’s(↓61.76%) and Joffra Archer’s(↓43.56%) values went down by ₹34.8 and ₹35.16, respectively. Ravi Bishnoi’s(↓38.61%) price also dropped by ₹41.49.
