- Boult With an Early Strike
Tanzid Hassan and Liton Das walked out to open the innings. Trent Boult, with the new ball, dismissed Liton Das. Das played the opening delivery of the innings directly into the hands of Matt Henry at fine-leg.

- A Quick Recovery
Tanzid Hasan managed to secure 4 boundaries in a rapid recovery partnership alongside Mehidy. But the team suffered another setback when he was dismissed at just 16 runs.
He clipped the ball to the short square-leg fielder during the 8th over of the innings. Bangladesh was 46/2 at the end of 1st powerplay.

- Top Order Collapse
Lockie Ferguson got another wicket in the 12th over when he dismissed Mehidy. He scored 30 runs in 46 balls, including 3 impressive cover drives.
Bangladesh lost another wicket in the next over at the score of 56. Glenn Philips had the in-form Najmul Hossain Shanto caught at midwicket. Devon Conway took an acrobatic catch to send him back to the pavilion.

- Mushfiqur and Shakib’s Partnership
The experienced batter Mushfiqur Rahim joined Shakib ul Hassan. He wasted no time and dispatched Glenn Philips with his favourite slog sweep. He smoked the ball for a six, followed by a boundary.
In the 20th over, Shakib and Mushfiqur scored a boundary each. The Tigers were 93/4 after 20 overs. Mushfiqur struck his second 6 against Ferguson. This time, he sent the ball over the third-man boundary. Bangladesh looked to be on the road to recovery.
Shortly after Mushfiqur reached his fifty, Shakib experienced some cramps, but he continued. The Bangladesh captain confidently struck Ravindra for a straight 4 and a 6 over midwicket. He followed this with another 6 off Ferguson, but he was dismissed on the very next ball.
He once again attempted a powerful shot but was not successful this time. He added 40 runs in the team’s total. Mushfiqur also departed shortly after that. His dismissal came from a Henry delivery that kept unusually low. Nevertheless, it was a commendable innings on his part.

- Mahmudullah’s Late Surge
Tohwid Hridoy couldn’t push on and got dismissed. Now, it was Mahmudullah’s responsibility to finish the innings on a good note. Mahmudullah took it upon himself to ensure that Bangladesh completed their 50 overs.
He played a crucial role in helping Bangladesh achieve this feat, finishing his innings unbeaten with 41 runs. Bangladesh posted a decent total of 245 runs.

- Mustafizur Dismissed Inform Ravindra
Rachin Ravindra smoked 2 boundaries in the 3rd over. However, Muztafizur held his nerve and got his wicket. Mustafizur had another opportunity soon after when Conway played a drive away from his body. However, the chance was put down by Mehidy Hasan Miraz at point.

- Conway and Williamson Drove the Innings
Shortly after surviving the missed chance, Conway managed to find his groove. He struck Shoriful Islam for two consecutive fours. In the 10th over, Kane Williamson joined the action, hitting Shoriful for boundaries over point and through the point and cover regions.
Later on, it was Taskin’s turn to bear the brunt, conceding 2 more fours in the 13th over. However, Taskin also had an opportunity to dismiss Williamson when he put down a catch at short midwicket when he was on 27.
Shakib ul Hassan finally broke this partnership of 82 runs. Conway attempted a reverse sweep, but he missed the shot. He scored 45 off 59 balls when he was given out LBW.

- Brutal Attack from Daryl Mitchell
The dismissal of Conway didn’t significantly aid Bangladesh. Mitchell immediately picked up the pace. Mitchell made an explosive start, opening his account with a 6 off Shakib.
Williamson also got into the act, dispatching Shakib and Mehidy for 4 more boundaries.Mitchell then smoked a powerful pull shot off Taskin, followed by 2 consecutive sixes.
Williamson’s innings featured 10 fours and a six during his 108-ball stay. He amassed a total of 78 runs before departing due to cramps. He, together with Mitchell, contributed 108 runs for the third wicket.
Despite Williamson calling off the game in the 39th over, Mitchell continued to attack the Bangladesh bowling until the chase was successfully concluded in the 43rd over. Daryl’s remarkable performance included 6 boundaries and 4 towering sixes. He was unbeaten on 89 runs from just 67 balls.
New Zealand sealed the victory by 8 wickets with 43 balls remaining. Lockie Ferguson was declared Player of the Match for his 3/49 spell in the Ban vs NZ match.
